Briefing 21 01 2022

Campaigning > Cyclewight Briefings
You wait for one to come along and then there are two. Yes, LCWIP consultations.  (Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans) The newest one is East Cowes. Details below. Please do respond to ensure that the plans will improve the cycling and walking local in the area. Consultation ends at the end of Feb but please don’t wait   https://secure.journeysurveys.com/answer/1558/prompt
A quick reminder that the Cowes LCWIP consultation is still open. https://people-powered.uk/LCWIP/ The public meetings begin today and this weekend so please support if you can. CycleWight has been asked to join the network planning meeting which takes place next month.
Last week was the latest CycleWight committee meeting. The minutes are attached and the website has been updated. We have two new people join the committee, Pete Dyer and Claire Franklin. It is lovely to have them on board (saddle). Please, if you could spare some time to join us, that would be great. It is very informal.
Finally CycleWight has begun to work on their project with Newport Heritage Action Zone to encourage people to cycle into Newport from Carisbrooke and Gunville. You can find out more on this Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/658254491844560
